Summer Reading Program for Kids

The statewide Rhode Island Summer Reading Program is supported by the RI Office of Library and Information Services with funds from the Museum and Library Services, the Pawtucket Red Sox, Citizens Bank and Pepsi. Local support includes the Friends of Mohr Library and generous gifts in Memory of Andrew Greene.

How the reading program works.
Children from infants to 12 years old can sign up for summer reading throughout the summer starting on June 12.
For each chapter book or 5 picture books/easy readers kids read or listen to, they will be awarded a raffle ticket and an incentive coupon (free or reduced admission to the Providence Children's Museum, Roger Williams Zoo, and other attractions).
Children who complete at least 5 chapter books or 25 picture books/easy readers will receive a free book, an ice cream party invitation and a Certificate of Completion.

Ice Cream Party By invitation only Thursday, Aug. 14 at 6:30pm
Ice Cream Sundaes, raffles, free books and certificates for all kids who complete the reading program.
